Gary Cook
Executive Director
Gary’s roots are pre-1979, red-dirt-Oklahoma baptist. A 1974 graduate of Oklahoma Baptist University, Gary is a former classroom teacher and environmental educator. He moved to Bozeman in January of 1999 to work in a water education center at Montana State University and shortly thereafter joined First Baptist Church. In 2007, Gary joined the staff of FBC as the Executive Director of The Rock Youth Center. Gary is married to Tammy Jak, a former IBM account executive, and they have two beautiful daughters: Abbey Lee, a senior peace studies major at Whitworth University, and Cassidy Jak, a sophomore gender studies major at Lewis and Clark College. Three other important names in Gary's life are Martin, Gibson, and Fender.
Jason Bowker
Assistant Director
After growing up in an American Baptist church in Montana and attending an American Baptist university in South Dakota, Jason began an 8-year ecumenical journey with stops in the Methodist, Episcopal, and Disciples of Christ denominations. Having graduated with his Master of Divinity degree from the Seattle School of Theology and Psychology in 2012, Jason’s denominational expedition has returned him to his roots, as he moved to Bozeman and joined the staff of First Baptist Church and The Rock Youth Center in 2013. Jason is married to Mandy, a former music teacher and arts administrator and current stay-at-home-mom, and they have a 2-year-old daughter named Zoe and an 8-month-old daughter, Peyton. In their free time, they enjoy playing music, watching movies, and playing cards, while Jason enjoys a plethora of outdoor activities, including rock climbing, mountain biking, and disc golfing.
